ISLAMABAD: Maulana Yousuf Shah, who acts as contact person for the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), has said that the TTP has assured that all its factions have agreed to ceasefire, according to the Associated Press Of Pakistan (APP).
Shah said that all militant groups are bound to obey the decision of the TTP, adding that the Taliban have empowered the dialogue committee and Maulana Samiul Haq to take any decision in this regard.
The TTP coordinator said that the Taliban want to continue peace talks. He added that success of talks is necessary for restoration of peace.
Earlier, the TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shahid said that the Taliban were serious about peace talks. He said that the TTP had contacted all Taliban factions on the issue of a ceasefire and a decision would be made soon.
The spokesman said that the decision endorsed by the TTP leader is obligatory to pursue for all groups. He further said that they would not face any difficulty with the Taliban factions on any decision.
