PESHAWAR: TTP announces end of ceasefire. Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has ended its ceasefire with the government. However, the report is not confirmed yet. Meanwhile one of the top leaders of TTP Omar Khalid Khorasani believes that ceasefire has ended and now Pakistan will face blood and terror again. In one of his article, he discussed political situation of Pakistan in depth and believes that the nation is lost in small issues and Pakistan security crises is bigger than of Syria and Iraq. TTP announced ceasefire on March 1, 2014 for one month and duration of ceasefire has ended on April 1, 2014.

Meanwhile, the TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shahid said that the outfit has not decided yet about an extension in ceasefire with the government. He said that the TTP Shura will take the decision in this regard. The TTP spokesman said that there are differences among the members of the TTP on ceasefire extension.

The Taliban announced a one-month ceasefire on March 1 aimed at reviving peace talks after receiving what it said were government assurances it would not be attacked.

On March 26, the government negotiating team and the TTP Shura held their first round of direct peace talks in a remote area of North Waziristan, during which the both sides reached consensus on extending the ceasefire and on the exchange of non-combatants prisoners. However, media citing Taliban sources reported on Tuesday that the members of the TTP are divided over an extension in the one-month ceasefire that expired on Monday.

“There are differences among various factions of the TTP on an extension in the ceasefire it had announced on March 1. Some of the factions are in favour of extending it as long as the peace talks are under way with the government. Others want to resume the attacks and seek revenge for the crackdown on Taliban militants and torture on their prisoners in Sindh province,” a senior leader and Shura member of the TTP told media from an undisclosed location.

The TTP senior leader, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said that the TTP Shura members had been holding meetings for the past few days to build a consensus on an extension in the ceasefire but they could not reach a conclusion.

Meanwhile Omar Khalid Khorasani in his article sent through twitter indicates that ceasefire has been ended and Pakistan will face a wave of blood and fire soon. Read his article for further details:
