ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly Secretariat has issued tentative schedule for the first session of the National Assembly after general elections.

On the first day on Saturday‚ members would take oath and sign Roll of Members. Speaker of the last Assembly Dr. Fahmida Mirza will administer oath to the newly elected members. The house will then adjourn for Monday when election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker would take place.

However‚ nomination papers by the candidates for these posts will have to be delivered to the Secretary National Assembly by 12 noon on Sunday. The election on Monday would be through secret ballot.

Nomination papers for election of the Prime Minister would be received by the Secretary of the Assembly by 2.00 p.m. on Tuesday and election would be held through division on Wednesday.

The new Prime Minister is expected to take oath the same day.
