Taliban attacks causing damage to peace process: Yousuf Shah

MULTAN: The coordinator Taliban negotiating team Maulana Yousaf Shah has said that Taliban attacks are damaging the ongoing peace process.

In his address to a press conference in Multan, Yousaf shah called for demonstrating patience. Moreover, he also criticized leaders of religious and political parties opposing peace talks.

Separately, the Jamaat-i-Islami provincial chief and member of the Taliban negotiation committee Professor Muhammad Ibrahim told journalists after addressing a donor conference in Mingora that there are a lot of hurdles in holding direct dialogue between the government and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Professor Ibrahim said that the government and the Taliban are showing seriousness in the talks but lack of trust is the major obstacle that has been causing difficulties since the peace process was initiated.
