SIALKOT, Pakistan: Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan Sherali S Jononov has assured all out efforts for materialisation of direct imports of Sialkot-made sports goods as well as surgical instruments, instead of purchasing these products from European countries on higher prices.

He said this while talking to Sialkot’s exporters during a meeting at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here Friday.SCCI President Maj (Rtd) Mansur Ahmed, SVP Muhammad Sarfraz Butt, former SCCI President Fazal Jillani and others also attended the meeting.

The Ambassador stressed the need to promote bilateral trade between Pakistan and Tajikistan. He invited Sialkot exporters to participate in business activities in Tajikistan, besides joining international trade and exhibitions being held in his country.

“We are rich in hydel energy and we are going to export hydel energy to Pakistan to help meet growing demands”, he added.

The Ambassador also observed that Pak-Afghan-Tajik trade delegations could provide healthy boost to trade among these countries.

He expressed keen interest in direct import of sports and surgical items from Sialkot-Pakistan, instead of purchasing these products from European countries on higher prices.

He assured of easy access of Sialkot exporters to international trade markets of Tajikistan and other Central Asian states.

On this occasion, President of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Major (retd) Mansur Ahmed said that regular exchange of trade delegations would further develop contacts between the Chambers of commerce and Industry of Pakistan and Tajikistan, while holding of joint trade exhibitions would help promote the bilateral trade. He added that Pakistan could be a gateway for the Central Asia for trade and commerce.
