ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chinese President Xi Jinping was told on Tuesday that the Pakistani government has approved rising of a Special Security Division of Pakistan Army to provide security to Chinese nationals working on various projects in Pakistan.

“The security of Chinese nationals working in Pakistan is of paramount importance,” President Mamnoon Hussain told Xi Jinping during a one-on-one meeting in Islamabad.

Later, the two sides also held delegation level talks.

On the occasion, President Mamnoon said that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project would change the fate of the region and Pakistan looks forward to speedy implementation of all projects under the flagship of corridor.

“Pakistan and China enjoy Omni-dimensional relationship,” the president said.

The president expressed gratitude for China’s military assistance to Pakistan and stated that further capacity building of the Pakistani armed forces is essential for the overall security and stability of South Asia.

Mamnoon Hussain underscored that Pakistan supported One China policy and also supports China on its issues of core interest like Taiwan, Tibet and human rights.

Moreover, the president said that the East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM) endangers not only China’s stability but also that of Pakistan.

Moscow says it won’t allow US to silence UNSC on Israeli violence against Palestinians Monitoring Desk: Russian envoy in United Nations Vasily Nebenzya said that the UN Security Council should bring peace, stability and prosperity to the Middle East and Russia would not allow United States to silence UNSC over the issue of Gaza crisis. According to TASS news Agency, Nebenzya said that Moscow will continue to call for an end to violence against Palestinians and will not allow the US to muzzle the UN Security Council as Washington seeks to support Israel's operation in Gaza. "We will continue to stand firmly for ending violence against the Palestinians. Without a shadow of a doubt, we will continue to expose the abuses and sanctimony with which the US is handling the situation. We will not allow the Americans to gag the entire council with their hands in an effort to encourage further continuation of Israel's ruthless operation," he said in a speech at the Security Council.
