QUETTA, Pakistan: Unidentified assailants on Saturday abducted the son of a Balochistan lawmaker from Pishin, a senior police official said.
Talking to media, the District Police Officer (DPO) Pishin Hayee Baloch said that the son of Balochistan’s Local Government Minister and Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) leader Sardar Mustafa Khan Tareen was kidnapped from the Cadet College area of Pishin.
The security forces launched a search operation in the area soon after the kidnapping.
Meanwhile taking notice of the incident, the Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri ordered the police to increase their efforts for the recovery of the minister’s son.
In recent years, the children of high profile personalities have been the target of militants as sons of former Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and former Punjab Governor Salman Taseer were abducted. Though luckily, both abducted sons Ali Haider Gilani and Shahbaz Taseer were recovered in May and March this year respectively after being in years long captivity.
