Six labourers dead in Orakzai coal mine blast

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: An explosion took place in a coal mine in the Lower Orakzai Agency that left six labourers dead and six others injured.

The incident occurred on Wednesday night in Doli area of Lower Orakzai Agency, one of Pakistan’s seven semi-autonomous tribal regions in the northwest.

The injured labourers were shifted to Agency Headquarters Hospital in Kalaya for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed deep grief and sorrow over the incident.

In another incident, six members of a family including five children and their mother sustained burn injuries due to gas cylinder blast in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Nowshera district.

The fatal incident took place in Pabbi area of district Nowshera district on Thursday morning.

The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.

Separately, a blast took place in front of house of a former deputy inspector general of police at Afridi Abad area of Peshawar. However, luckily no casualty occurred in the blast.
