In a statement, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) personnel resorted to shelling along the Working Boundary in Sialkot’s Charwah, Harpal, Chaprar and Sucheetgarh sectors

The ISPR said that Kangan Pur and Bajra Garhi villages were affected badly in the firing by the Indian forces.

“Pakistani security forces responded befittingly to the Indian firing,” it said.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the indiscriminate firing from the Indian BSF personnel at the Sialkot Working Boundary.

The Chief Minister expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the firing. He expressed sympathies with the bereaved families.

Shahbaz Sharif directed to provide best medical facilities to the injured.

The latest ceasefire violation by the Indian troops occurred days after the scheduled national security advisors level talks between the two neighboring countries were cancelled after New Delhi opposed the planned meeting between Sartaj Aziz and Kashmiri separatist leaders.

Meanwhile, the United States has once again urged Pakistan and India to work together with constructive dialogue to resolve their issues.

In his daily press briefing in Washington, the US State Department Spokesman John Kirby said that we understand that there are longstanding issues but we want to see the tensions decrease.
