Islamabad, Pakistan: #SherAyaBijliLaya (Sher Aya Bijli Laya—Lion comes along with electricity) was a trend on Twitter in Pakistan just after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif inaugurated Sahiwal Coal Power Project on Thursday.

The project has been completed in an unprecedented shortest possible time as the project had ground breaking ceremony of on May, 30, 2014. The project comprises of two 660MW plants with a total capacity of 1,320MW.

Prime Minister was accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Punjab Governor Muhammad Rafiq Rajwana, Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafiq and State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali when he unveiled the plaque of the project on Thursday.

The prime minister also visited the Control Room and different portions of the power plant wherein the Chinese engineers briefed him about the functioning of the plant.

Prime Minister appreciated M/s Huaneng Shandong Ruyi Pakistan Energy Private Limited that connected the project with national grid and transmission system on May 12, 2017 and it injected electricity into national transmission on May 25, 2017.

Supporter of Pakistan Muslim League (N) had been twitting and re-twitting #SherAyaBijliLaya (Lion comes along with electricity) since morning and by the time when Prime Minister Nawaz was inaugurating the project, #SherAyaBijliLaya became Top trend in Pakistan.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
