LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday inaugurated the 5th Pak-China Business Forum 2016 at the Expo Center in Lahore.
The business forum will continue for four days and is expected to attract 700 representatives of more than 400 Chinese and 150 Pakistani companies.
The business forum is being held with the cooperation of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT). Other partners include Ministry of Science & Technology, Punjab Board of Investment & Trade and National Testing Service (NTS).
The major objectives of the Pak-China business forum were to increase foreign direct investment into Pakistan, improve export opportunities to China, develop stronger B2B (business-to-business) relations with Chinese business and enhance economic activity in the country by strengthening academia and industry alliance.
The forum provides a unique opportunity for Conglomerates, SMEs, R&D Institutions, Organizations from the Financial and Services sectors to collaborate with more than 200 participating Chinese companies from the following sectors; ICT and Electronic, Engineering and Manufacturing, Energy Resources/Solar/Renewable Energy, Associations/Chambers, Textile, Furniture and Decoration, Tourism, Automotives, Trading and Logistics, Chemicals, Medical and Pharmacy, Banking and Investment, Food Industry, Education and Research.
The event includes an exhibition to display products, business-to-business meetings as well as thematic workshops for scholarly work.
