LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with Britain and wants to further promote economic ties with it.

Talking to British Foreign Secretary William Hague in Lahore‚ he said Pakistan had been facing various challenges and it had to deal with energy crisis and terrorism simultaneously.

Shahbaz Sharif said that power generation projects from biomass‚ biogas and solar power could be launched in Punjab and Britain could extend cooperation for this purpose.

Foreign Secretary William Hague said Britain wants to promote its trade and economic ties with Pakistan.

He said that Britain would extend all out cooperation to Pakistan in overcoming energy crisis.
