Shahbaz rules out PM Nawaz’s resignation

LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has ruled out the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as demanded by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

In a statement in Lahore on Friday, the chief minister termed the demands of the PTI and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PTA) as unconstitutional. He further said that Imran Khan’s demand for the formation of a government of technocrats is unconstitutional.

Shahbaz said that Imran Khan is staging protest to hide the worst performance of his party government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Parliament best forum to resolve national issues: Fazl

The Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the parliament is the best forum to discuss and resolve national issues.

In a statement, the JUI-F leader said that mid-term elections are not a solution to any problem and establishing a technocrat government is unconstitutional.

PTI, PAT marches en route to Islamabad

Meanwhile, thousands of activists of the PTI and the PTA are on their way to Islamabad to protest against alleged rigging in the last year general elections and to present their demands of electoral and administrative reform.

The federal government finally gave its permission on Thursday evening to the supporters and activists of both parties to march on the federal capital but warned that no one would be allowed to violate the law and the constitution. The government also told the marchers to stay away from the Red Zone area in Islamabad.
