Islamabad: All is set for PTI public rally in Islamabad today May 11. Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) has mobilised all wings including women wing to provide maximum participants for this show of strength on the first anniversary of 2013 general elections. Rally will start at 1700 hours Pakistan Standard Time (PST). Chief of PTI is protesting against alleged rigging of 2013 general elections instead of celebrating first year of its government in Khybar Pakhtun Khawa (KPK).

A huge stage has been fabricated at Express Chok outside d-chok in front of Parliament building. PTI has arranged drinking water, food medical camps and information desks at different corners of area of rally. PTI is expecting around half a million participants while Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) of Dr. Tahirul Qadari promised PTI to provide around 200,000 workers. It may be mentioned that PAT last year had a very successful gathering of its workers at same spot and that sit in continued for days under unbearable cold conditions and winter rainy season.

Political observers are of the view PTI and PAT show will have no impact on political system or democracy in Pakistan and it will just a show of power without getting any set results. PTI chief Imran Khan believes that 2013 general elections were rigged and PTI lost four seats due to rigging and courts are reluctant to announce decision of rigging cases despite one year has passed.

Political circles claim that prime intelligence agency of Pakistan ISI is behind this show of power against sitting government of PMLN because sitting government   refrained to protect ISI against allegations levelled by Geo television and Jang group of publications that ISI was involved in life attempt on leading anchorperson Hamid Mir. It may be mentioned that Hamid Mir claims that ISI chief planned attack on him in which he got six bullets but he survived. Sky of Islamabad is little clouding and weather is good after yesterday’s thunderstorm and rain.
