SocialSC sees FC role in missing persons case

QUETTA: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday said that evidence was available against Frontier Corps (FC) personnel in some missing person cases.

A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the case pertaining to unrest in Balochistan at the Supreme Court’s Quetta registry on Tuesday.

During today’s proceedings, the Chief Justice said that relatives of missing persons had been claiming that the FC was involved in some of the disappearances.

The Chief Justice said that Inspector General FC Major General Shahid Ijaz should stay in the court until the recovery of the missing.

Moreover, he also commented on the smuggling of drugs and weapons from across the Afghan border and inquired the Assistant Collector Preventive Amanullah Tareen regarding the usefulness of police checkpoints.

The Chief Justice said that the border should be sealed in order to improve the country’s financial situation.
