Samarkand will host 99th session of UNWTO from October 1Islamabad: 99 session of UNWTO will be held in Samarkand during October 1 to October 4, 2014.

In accordance with decision CE/DEC/19(XCVIII), the Executive Council will hold its ninety-ninth session on 1-4 October 2014 in Samarkand, Uzbekistan

Executive Council of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) voted for holding its 99th session in Samarkand, Uzbekistan at its meeting on 6 June 2014. The decision was taken at the 98th session of the Executive Committee of the UNWTO held in Santiago de Compostela, Spain June 4, 2014. The selection of venue was made on open voting and all members of the UNWTO Executive Committee voted for Samarkand.

An opening ceremony, followed by a welcome dinner, is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, 1 October, at 19:00, at the Registan Plaza hotel. The working sessions of the Council will take place at the Samarkand Reception House.
