Islamabad, Pakistan: The result of the second phase of Sindh local bodies elections surely indicates that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) can give a tough time to other parties in forthcoming by-elections that would be held on 35 seats of the National Assembly as Speaker National Assembly has accepted resignations of 35 PTI lawmakers.

PTI said that its Chairman Imran Khan would contest from 33 seats in by-elections who won six seats in last October for the PTI in a by-election that was seen as a direct contest between the former ruling party and the current ruling coalition.

The results of the second phase of Sindh local bodies elections showed the PPP won 93 UCs, JI bagged 86 UCs, and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) bagged 40. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won in seven, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and the Independents won in three each. Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) won two and Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM) got one seat.
