Rasheed dismisses reports of differences between govt, army

ISLAMABAD: The federal minister for information Pervaiz Rasheed on Friday dismissed reports of differences between the government and the army or demand of resignations from some federal ministers.

Talking to the media in Islamabad on Friday, the information minister said that these rumors are being spread by those elements who thrive under dictatorial rules, adding that these elements will not succeed in their designs.

Rasheed said that all institutions including the Pakistan army are working under the domain of the constitution.

The information minister said that the Pakistan army has always given sacrifices for the defense of the homeland. The nation is proud of these sacrifices and no patriotic can point finger on the army, he added.

The minister further said that everybody will respect the court’s verdict about treason case against former president Pervez Musharraf.

Earlier, the information minister inaugurated 10-day Annual Folk Festival at Lok Virsa, and a painting exhibition being organized by Film and Publication Directorate at Lok Virsa Museum.
