PakistanQadri terms SC verdict ‘unconstitutional’

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Tehreek Minhajul Quran (TMQ) Dr. Tahirul Qadri has termed the Supreme Court’s verdict on his petition to reconstitute the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) as unconstitutional, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported on Wednesday.

Talking to media persons shortly after the apex court dismissed his petition; visibly angry Qadri said that the judgment is unconstitutional.

Qadri was of the view that his actual petition was not taken up for three days and proceedings revolved around his dual nationality. TMQ chief said the loyalty of a dual nationality holder was doubted by the apex court.

“It is an insult to millions of overseas Pakistanis who are sending billion of dollars to Pakistan,” Qadri said.

“There is no difference in my allegiance to Queen Elizabeth and judges’ alligiance to Pervez Musharraf,” he said, referring to judges oath under the PCO issued by General Musharraf in 2000.
