Qadri claims govt passes all levels of brutality, seven PTA workers killed

LAHORE, Pakistan: The Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) leader Dr Tahirul Qadri said on Saturday that the government has passed all levels of brutality, just to stop people from attending the martyrs day on August 10, claiming that seven of his supporters were killed in straight firing from the police.

PAT chief said that over a thousand workers are critically injured, claiming they are not receiving proper treatment. He alleged that the government has withheld the medical treatment from the wounded workers.
“My supporters are being deprived of basic facilities including food, shelter and medicine”, he said.

Qadri said that the government is so cruel that it is not letting his party workers carry those injured in clashes the police to hospitals for medical treatment.

The PAT leader said that the government closed the borders linking Punjab to Sindh and Balochistan and is taking all measures at its disposal against his party.

Qadri advised his supporters travelling from different towns and villages to stay put and hold sit-ins and demonstrations at their current venues instead of marching towards Lahore and endangering their security.

In addition, he also accused the government of cutting of food and water supplies from Model Town, which he claimed is being done to starve the workers of his party.
