Putin suggests Syria to establish dialogue with Saudi Arabia and Turkey
Moscow, Russia: The Russian President Vladimir Putin has suggested Syria to do everything possible to establish constructive dialogue with countries that want to fight terrorism.
He indicated Turkey, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia should be contacted by Syria for developing constructive relations with regarding fight against terrorism. Putin offered Russian support for make an attempt to build coalition of Syria, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Jordan to fight international terrorism.
During his meeting with Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem that took place here on Monday, Putin international terrorism was the most dangerous issue of the region and Russia was in contact with Middle Eastern countries and Turkey, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia have shown their full resolve against international terrorism.
While referring to rise of Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, Putin suggested Syria that it (Syria) should resolve its issues with neighboring countries to unite efforts to fight with evil of international terrorism.
“We know that misunderstandings, friction and temporary problems do frequently arise between neighbours, but it is certainly essential for everyone to unite their efforts for the sake of combating this common evil”, said Putin.
Putin was optimist that Syria could negotiate with neighboring countries for a better relation that could help Syria to resolve diplomatic issues.
“We realise that in circumstances such as these, success always comes hand-in-hand with problems too, and military defeats are also possible. But we are confident that the Syrian people will ultimately be victorious and we remain committed to our policy of supporting Syria, its government and its people. At the same time, we think that we can only fight terrorism and extremist radicalism effectively if all countries in the region unite their efforts. Russia has very good relations with all countries in the region without exception, and our contacts with these countries show that all of them are ready to make their contribution to fighting the evil that is the Islamic State. This is true of Turkey, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, ”, added Vladimir Putin.
Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al-Moualem in the meeting explained initiatives taken by Syria to combat ISIS and explained that Syria was trying to resolve its issues with neighboring countries. He added that it would take greater efforts yet to establish a coalition of neighbouring countries to fight terrorism and demanded help of Russia to broker negotiations with Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
“We are ready, with the help of your efforts, to make an effort to cooperate for the sake of fighting terrorism. We count on your support and we are sure that the Syrian people, like the Soviet people, will stand firm against terrorism”, said Syria Foreign Minister.
