Punjab surpasses Sindh in COVID-19 Cases

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Punjab has surpassed Sindh in terms of Coronavirus Cases as against 273,466 COVID-19 infections recorded so far in Sindh, Punjab has now detected a total of 273,566 infections, as per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).

The data updated by the NCOC on Tuesday morning showed that 68,002 people were tested for Coronavirus on April 19, and 5,445 of them were found positive recording a positivity ratio of 8.00%.

So far, a total of 766,882 Coronavirus Cases have been detected across the Country including 273,566 in Punjab and 273,466 in Sindh.

Likewise, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has to date reported 107,309 Coronavirus Cases, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) 70,609, Balochistan 21,000, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) 15,741, and Gilgit-Baltistan 5,191.

The data showed that further 137 COVID-19 patients succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours across Pakistan.

Of them, Punjab recorded 104 deaths, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 21, Sindh, ICT, and AJK 3 each, Balochistan 2, and Gilgit-Baltistan 1.

To date, 16,453 people have died of Coronavirus in the Country including 7,561 in Punjab, 4,556 in Sindh, 2,920 in KPK, 645 in ICT, 442 in AJK, 225 in Balochistan, and 104 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The NCOC’s data further showed that 667,131 patients have so far recovered from the infection in the Country while the total active COVID-19 Cases in the Country as of April 20 are 83,298.
