ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Jamiat Ulema-e Islam Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that politics of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is contrary to our traditions and urged the Imran Khan-led party to shun politics of allegations.

“Such (PTI’s) politics is contrary to our traditions,” Fazl said while talking to media persons outside the Parliament House on Monday.

The JUI-F Chief urged the political forces to forge unity to resolve challenges being faced to the country.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman meanwhile cast his vote in the House in favour of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for the post of Speaker National Assembly.

The election of the new Speaker National Assembly was being contested between Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and PTI’s Shafqat Mehmood.

Fazl said that that election for slot of the Speaker National Assembly would further strengthen the democracy and dignity of the Parliament. He said that Ayaz Sadiq has demonstrated responsibility as the Speaker of the Lower Houser of the Parliament in the past and hoped that he would continue the same spirit in future.

In reply to a question regarding Kashmir issue, he expressed his satisfaction over Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for raising the dispute of Kashmir on international fora.

“The whole nation is stand with Kashmiri people and Kashmir dispute would be resolved according to the wishes of the people of Kashmir,” Fazl said.

Fazlur Rehman urged the international community to play its role to resolve longstanding issue of Kashmir as per aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir which is necessary for durable peace in the region.

“Recommendations have drafted and handed over to the federal government to make more strengthen and effective the National Assembly Standing Committee on Kashmir,” the JUI-F Chief added.
