ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has said that the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and its allies are hopeful to win elections of the Chairman Senate and the Deputy Chairman.

The Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Upper House of the Parliament will be elected on Friday through secret ballot after oath-taking of 48 newly elected Senators.

The ruling PTI and its allied parties have nominated Sadiq Sanjrani as their Candidate for the Chairman Senate Slot while the Opposition has fielded Yousaf Raza Gilani for the Seat.
