PoliticsPresidential election turned controversial after several political parties’ boycott: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Tuesday that the presidential election has turned controversial as several political forces have boycotted it, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

It is pertinent to mention that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Awami National Party (ANP) and Balochistan National Party (BNP) boycotted the presidential election over reservations on the decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan to reschedule the poll.

Talking to media outside the parliament on Tuesday, Imran Khan said that the PTI contested this election after party consultation because it did not want to give open ground to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

The PTI chairman demanded Supreme Court to investigate rigging in May 11 general elections at least in four constituencies through thumb impression.

Imran Khan said the apex court has yet not responded to the petition in which PTI demanded to hold investigations against rigging in Election 2013.

The PTI chairman claimed that May 11 general elections was massively rigged as all political forces except PML-N blamed so.

Imran Khan said in All Parties Conference in 2007‚ PML-N agreed not to hold hands with Muttahida Qaumi Movement unless it disbands its militant wing. He said PML-N deviated from its commitment.
