ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: President Mamnoon Hussain on Tuesday called for further raising the standard of higher education across the country.
In a meeting with newly appointed President of National Defence University (NDU) Lieutenant General Nazir Ahmed Butt at the Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Tuesday, the president underscored the importance of acquiring modern education and hailed NDU for playing a commendable role in imparting quality education, training to both civilian and army officers and proposing defence strategies.
The president also appreciated NDU for hosting quality strategic and security studies programs not only for the armed forces officers and civil bureaucracy of Pakistan but also for senior officers from friendly countries.
President Mamnoon congratulated Lt General Nazir Ahmed Butt on being appointed as President of NDU and hoped that he would discharge his new responsibilities with dedication and commitment.
The president NDU briefed President Mamnoon Hussain about matters relating to the University.
