QUETTA, Pakistan: President Dr. Arif Alvi has expressed satisfaction over the Balochistan government’s steps for extending effective cooperation to the poor people during lockdown amid the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
In his remarks at meeting to review the Coronavirus situation in Balochistan after reaching Quetta on a one-day tour on Wednesday, the president pressed upon the federal and provincial governments to continue a coordinated strategy to prevent the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.
The president was briefed by the Chief Secretary Balochistan Captain (retd) Fazeel Asghar about the provincial government’s measures for the containment of COVID-19.
The meeting was attended by the Interior Minister Brigadier (retd) Ijaz Shah, the Minister for Religious Affairs Dr. Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, the Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Lt General Muhammad Afzal, the Governor Balochistan Justice (retd) Amanullah Khan Yasinzai, the Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal, the Corps Commander Southern Command Lt General Waseem Ashraf and other senior officials.
Earlier upon reaching Quetta, the Balochistan governor and the chief minister received President Arif Alvi.
