ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf Friday said the expected visit of Pope Francis to Pakistan would help promote interfaith harmony in the country.
Talking to Pakistan Television, the minister said Pope Francis was expected to visit Pakistan by the end of this year as he had accepted the invitation of the government.
He said he himself along with federal ministers Ports and Shipping Kamran Michael had invited the pope on the direction of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
He said the Christian community would be pleased with the visit besides a positive massage would be conveyed to the world.
Sardar Yousaf informed the efforts of Pakistan government regarding promotion of Interfaith Harmony were also discussed during the visit.
This type of visits would help remove the mis-perceptions of the world about Muslims and to show the real face of Islam across the globe.
