Polling underway in Dera Ismael Khan by-polls

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The voting for by-election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa constituency PK-68 Dera Ismael Khan began on Monday morning and will continue till 5 pm.

A total of 108 polling stations for 127,617 registered voters have been set up for by-election.

There are 13 candidates taking part in by-election; however, a tough contest is expected between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Ehtesham Javed Akbar and an independent candidate Murid Kazim Shah.

The seat in the constituency fell vacant after independent member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Javed Akbar was disqualified by an election tribunal in a bogus degree case.
