KARACHI: Eleven 11 children were recovered by the police and two allege kidnappers arrested after the law enforcers busted a gang using the kids as begging tool in Karachi.

SHO Asif Ali said Gizri police conducted raid on a house in the area and recovered the children who were kidnapped from Punjab and different parts of Karachi for the purpose of forced beggary in the metropolis during the month of Ramazan.

The children are aged between 8 to 15 years. They told the police that they were forced for the beggary and were tortured to earn 500 to 600 rupees daily.

The kidnappers, during police custody, claimed that the children were not abducted but gathered from city railway stations and footpaths. –
