PakistanPML-F, PML-LM seek Muslim Leagues’ unification

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League -Functional (PML-F) chief Pir Pagara and Pakistan Muslim League -Like Minded (PML-LM) chief Nasir Aslam Chatta on Saturday reached a consenses to combine all League factions, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

The PML-F chief and other leaders called on PML-LM chief at his residence on Saturday and discussed political situation prevailing in the country.

In a joint press conference after the meeting, Pir Pagara said that he would meet Chaudhry brothers in a bid to unite all factions of Muslim League. He said agencies had no role in Leagues’ unification.

Pir Pagara said that Muslim Leagues had been united in bad times, but split thereafter. He was of the views that all Muslim Leagues had learnt a lesson and now they would not split.

Meanwhile, PML-LM chief Chatha endorsed the views of Pir Pagara, saying that this unification was indispensable to steer the country out of challenges.

In reply to a question, Pagara said that it was his father’s decision to join the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP)-led alliance. But he added the PPP failed to honor its commitment ever since he took over the party.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
