PM says no room for extremism‚ narrow-mindedness in Islam

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that there is no room for extremism and narrow-mindedness in Islam‚ which teaches peace and justice.

In a message on the advent of the holy month of Ramazan-ul-Mubarik‚ he said the so-called elements‚ who are playing with the lives of innocent people in the name of Islam are not actually aware of the spirit of Islamic teachings.

The Prime Minister said Ramazan is the month of blessings‚ which enjoins the Muslims to observe fasting and refrain from all bad deeds and teaches us self-accountability‚ discipline and sacrifice.

He said the month inculcates a sense of worship in the Muslims‚ which helps them to mould their lives as per the guidance of Almighty Allah.

Nawaz Sharif said we should know that the real fasting is to protect oneself from Allah’s unfaithfulness and get rid of all sorts of evil desires.

He said we need to present a true picture of Islam to the world‚ promote its philosophy of welfare and prosperity of human beings and counter negative views.

Nawaz Sharif urged the nation to render good in their practical lives besides praying for peace and prosperity of the nation and country during the month.
