PM Nawaz to undertake two-day official visit to Iran on May 11

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will undertake a two-day official visit to Iran on May 11 to discuss bilateral relations, the regional political situation and various protocols, media citing a diplomatic source reported on Saturday.

During his visit, the prime minister will hold official talks with Iranian president Hasan Rouhani at the President’s office on May 11, diplomatic sources said.

The sources said that Sharif is also expected to meet Iranian grand spiritual leader Ayatollah Khomeini on May 12.

During official level talks, both sides are expected to discuss the situation in Syria, Afghanistan and Middle East besides discussing the Pak-Iran gas pipeline, the sources said

The prime minister will be accompanied on his visit by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Commerce Minister Khurram Dastagir and Adviser to the premier on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.
