LONDON: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Monday expressed his thanks to the nation for extending good wishes and praying for his early recovery.

Talking to media on his arrival at Pakistan’s High Commission in London to chair the meetings of the National Economic Council (NEC) and special cabinet meeting through video link, the prime minister said that he was grateful to those who telephoned him to inquire his health.

“I have been going through the messages of good wishes, also on social media. I am thankful to the nation, including Muslims, Christians and Hindus for praying for my recovery,” said the prime minister who will undergo heart surgery on Tuesday.

He told the media that he had been part of the consultation on the budgetary proposals.
