DUSHANBE: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Dushanbe on Tuesday on a two-day official visit to Tajikistan at the invitation of the Tajik President Emomali Rahmon.

The prime minister was received at the airport by the Tajik deputy prime minister Azeem Ibrihim

The visit is part of regular high-level exchanges between the two brotherly countries.

Sharif is accompanied by a high-level delegation including the minister for water and power, minister for textile industry, minister of state for foreign affairs, and senior officials.

During his stay in Dushanbe, the prime minister will hold wide ranging talks with the Tajik President Emomali Rahmon on the issue of further strengthening and expanding bilateral relations between Pakistan and Tajikistan.

The prime minister will also discuss CASA-1000 power project with the Tajik president, which will supply 1000-megawatt cheap electricity to Pakistan.
