ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Thursday directed the concerned authorities to ensure uninterrupted power supply at Iftar and Sehr timings as the Holy month of Ramazan begins in the country.
While presiding over a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Energy in Islamabad on Thursday, the prime minster said that the scheduled load shedding must not exceed the prescribed time limit during the holy month.
Meanwhile, addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Thursday afternoon, the Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif also announced that there would be no power load shedding during Iftar and Sehr.
The minister said that there would be no load shedding half an hour before Iftar and similarly, there would be no load shedding one hour before and half an hour after Shar.
The water and power minister said that presently there is six to eight hours of load shedding daily. He said that it would be their effort to bring it below six hours during the holy month to provide relief to people.
