PM Nawaz, COAS discuss national defence‚ security

ISLAMABAD: A meeting was held in Islamabad on Wednesday between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif, during which they discussed matters relating to national defence and security.

The sources said the army chief briefed the prime minister about actions against militants, which he said, bringing positive results.

The meeting was attended by the federal minister for defence Khawaja Muhammad Asif‚ the federal minister for interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan‚ Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt. General Zaheerul Islam and Director General Military Operations Major General Aamer Riaz.
