PM Nawaz chairs high-level meeting on national security

ISLAMABAD: A high-level meeting was held in Islamabad on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, during which the internal security of the country was reviewed.

The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Khwaja Muhammad Asif‚ Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan‚ Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and Director General Inter-Services Intelligence Lieutenant General Zaheerul Islam.

During the meeting, the dialogue process with the Taliban was also discussed, the sources said.

Earlier, the prime minister held a one-on-one meeting with the Army chief and discussed various matters pertaining to national security.
