A total of 193 posts out of 267 have been filled by the government whereas the process of recruitment to fill remaining posts would be completed soon.

The OPD services and operation theater equipped with all necessary high powered medical and surgical equipment had already started providing treatment to patients in September last year and all other departments were functional.

With formal inauguration of the hospital, the people of Swat, Dir, Chitral, Malakand, Shangla and adjacent districts would be facilitated, particularly the patients of kidney transplant and dialysis and other related diseases in the four storey building.

The doctors at the hospital told APP that the Institute of Kidney Disease in Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC) Peshawar was immensely overloaded due to high number of patients coming from far flung areas including Malakand division and Swat. They said the Nawaz Sharif Kidney Hospital Swat would be an alternative source of treatment for patients.

This hospital would immensely help address the grave problem of patients coming at HMC besides helping people of Malakand division to get quality treatment at their doorstep by saving their money and time as well.
