PM to inaugurate two additional units of Guddu Power Plant

ISLAMABAD: As part of the government’s efforts to meet the energy shortfall the country frequently experiences, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate two units of 243 megawatts each at Guddu Power Plant today (Monday).

These projects have been completed six-week ahead of the stipulated time with the cooperation of a Chinese Company.

The early completion will save Rs 58.6 billion.

The third unit of similar capacity to be commissioned in May this year, will add a total of 747 megawatts to the system.

The addition of three power units will increase the current capacity of Guddu from 1655 megawatts to 2402 megawatts.
