PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday inaugurated 2,056 low-cost family flats costing Rs 5.09 billion for labourers at Regi Lalma in Peshawar under the Naya Pakistan Housing Program.
Executed by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, the flats will be given propriety rights to the registered workers of the province.
The flats will be distributed through balloting in which a three percent quota has been reserved for widows and two percent for differently-abled people.
The project also includes a school comprising 30 classrooms.

While addressing the Inauguration Ceremony of the Labour Complex Shahibala in Peshawar, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that his government is committed to facilitate lower segments of society as per the vision of the State of Madinah.
The prime minister said that no attention was paid to the poor class by successive regimes in the past. He said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is the first government which is focusing on the welfare of the oppressed and neglected people through the provision of Health Cards and Housing Facilities.
Talking about the construction work on Mohmand Dam, the prime minister said the reservoir will be completed by 2025 and it will irrigate 17,000 acres of land, provide 300 million gallon water to the residents of Peshawar and generate cheap electricity.
Imran Khan said that 10 smaller and bigger dams will be constructed in the Country by 2028 to take care of the electricity needs and food security of the Country.
