ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has taken strict notice of increase in load shedding and directed to decrease its duration, the minister of state for water and power Abid Sher Ali told media persons in Islamabad on Monday.
The state minister said that the federal government is fully devoted to provide relief by decreasing load shedding duration. He said that 2,400 megawatts electricity would be added in the national grid system by the end of this year.
Abid Sher Ali said that government is working hard to fulfill its pledged agenda, and that is why public has been witnessing initiation of new power projects in various parts of the country. He said that the prime minister himself is taking keen interest to get rid of this menace.
Moreover, he said that several projects will be inaugurated by the prime minister this year including 1,320 megawatt Port Qasim power project, 6,600 megawatt Gaddani power project and 4,500 megawatt Dasu hydropower project. He said that the government will fulfill all its promises with regard to power generation.
