ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The National Security Advisor Lieutenant General (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua has said that peace in Afghanistan is vital for Pakistan, adding that Pakistan continues to make the efforts to bring peace in the neighboring country through an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process.

“Only a political solution is in everyone’s interest. Pakistan can act as a facilitator,” the security advisor said while talking to the British Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Owen Jenkins in Islamabad on Tuesday.

The national security advisor emphasized that the world’s powerful countries should influence the sitting the Afghan government to initiate a consolidated and well planned reconciliation process towards TTA, as they all are cousins to each other.

To ensure sustainable peace in the region, Lt General (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua also urged the United Kingdom to play a decisive role in resolving Kashmir Issue.
