KARACHI, Pakistan: Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shaharyar M. Khan has decided to form a Special Committee to inquire into Team Pakistan’s poor performance in the Asia Cup.
“Committee will also examine the selection process for the World Twenty20,” said a PCB news release issued Friday.
Chairman Cricket Committee PCB Shakil Shaikh will be heading the committee and it included Subhan Ahmad (Chief Operating Officer), former Test cricketer and chief selector Iqbal Qasim, former Pakistan captain Younis Khan and Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq (when available) as members.
The terms of reference for the committee are being prepared and will include the selection criteria, the coaching preparation and the team performance.
“It will monitor team’s performance in the World Twenty20 and make its recommendations thereafter. The committee will be empowered to call any person involved in the team performance. The Chairman is already seeking the advice of his cricket advisors, Misbah Ul Haq and Younus Khan.
The Special Committee will begin functioning immediately, statement concluded.
