ISLAMABAD: The meeting of an eight-member parliamentary committee formed to nominate a consensus candidate for the position of caretaker prime minister ended on Thursday without reaching on any conclusion, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.

In today’s meeting, the committee discussed nominations of Dr. Ishrat Hussain and Justice (retd) Nasir Aslam Zahid. The committee had already discussed the names of Justice (retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso and Rasool Bux Palejo in its yesterday’s meeting.

Ghulam Ahmed Bilour, the Awami National Party (ANP) leader and a member of the parliamentary committee, told media after the meeting that hopefully‚ the name for the office will be finalised by tomorrow as the committee has completed consultations on all the four names.

Separately, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) member of the committee, Senator Pervez Rashid, denied any stalemate in the committee and said tomorrow’s meeting will be decisive when a final decision is taken.

The fourth session of the committee will be held at 10.30 tomorrow morning.

According to constitution‚ the committee is bound to finalize the name of caretaker Prime Minister by tomorrow otherwise the Election Commission will finalize the name.
