Pakistan’s COVID positivity ratio stands at 8.16%

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Further 3,499 people across Pakistan tested positive for COVID-19, and 39 suffered deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC).

Till date Since February 26, the Country has recorded 406,810 Coronavirus Cases and 8,205 fatalities.

Meanwhile, the NCOC daily situational morning session was held in Islamabad on Thursday under the Chairmanship of the Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives and the Chairman NCOC Asad Umar.

The health experts briefed the forum on disease pattern, the COVID spread in various areas, and enforcement measures being taken to contain the pandemic.

It was apprised that the national positivity ratio is 8.16% while the highest positivity ratio was observed in Karachi 20.12% followed by Hyderabad 18.43% and Abbottabad 14.53%.

The NCOC was briefed that 2,469 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition across Pakistan and the number of critical patients is rising fast.

The positivity ratio in various federating units is as:

Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) 11.9%, Balochistan is 12.5%, Gilgit-Baltistan GB 4.7%, Islamabad 6.6%, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is 5.6%, Punjab 4.2%, and Sindh 14.1%.
