Pakistan’s COVID death toll rises to 12,938

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The fatalities caused by the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic across Pakistan have risen to 12,938 following the deaths of 42 patients on March 1, according to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC).

In the last 24 hours, 28 COVID patients died in Punjab, 6 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), and 3 in Sindh.

To date, a total of 5,391 people have died of Coronavirus in Punjab, 4,353 in Sindh, 2,085 in KPK, 501 in Islamabad, 306 in AJK, 200 in Balochistan, and 102 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The NCOC data showed that 31,948 people were tested in the Country for Coronavirus on March 1, and 1,163 of them were found positive.

In total, the Country has so far registered 582,528 Coronavirus Cases. Out of them, 258,412 Cases have been detected in Sindh, 172,683 in Punjab, 72,615 in KPK, 44,516 in Islamabad, 19,066 in Balochistan, 10,280 in AJK, and 4,956 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

As of March 2, 547,406 people have recovered from COVID-19 in Pakistan whereas 22,184 are still battling with the disease.
