Pakistan to witness two Eids again as KPK celebrates Eidul Fitr today

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The country is witnessing two Eids again this year like several past years as Eidul Fitr is being celebrated in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday.

The announcement to celebrate Eidul Fitr in the province was made by the private moon-sighting committee of Qasim Ali Khan Mosque in Peshawar headed by Mufti Shahabudin Popalzai on Sunday night.

Mufti Popalzai said while talking to media representatives after the committee’s meeting that they have received moon sighting witnesses from parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and most of them are credible so Eidul Fitr would be observed on Monday on the basis of the testified witnesses.

Meanwhile, the official regional Ruet-i-Hilal committee will meet in Peshawar on Monday for the sighting of Shawwal (1435 Hijri) crescent.
