Pakistan, US discuss expanding trade relations

WASHINGTON: Pakistan and the United States will discuss expanding trade relations as top officials of the two countries hold trade and investment framework agreement council meeting in Washington on Tuesday.

The federal minister for commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan will lead the Pakistani delegation while the US trade representative ambassador Michael Froman will head the American side at the meeting.

In line with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s emphasis on advancing bilateral relations on the basis of stronger trade, Pakistan seeks greater trade access for its products to the world markets, particularly the United States, which is one of largest trading partners of the country.
