ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The federal government on Thursday gave a green signal to the Pakistan cricket team to participate in the ICC World Twenty20 scheduled to be held in India next month.

In a statement, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said that the federal government has given permission specifically for the World T20. The Government advice in respect of the security of the members of Pakistan cricket team and Pakistani nationals would be adhered to in letter and spirit, it said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman PCB Shaharyar Khan, who is currently in Dhaka to watch Asia Cup T20, expressed satisfaction that the team will now be heading for India.

“We have asked the International Cricket Council (ICC) to hold special arrangements for the Pakistan cricket team while in India.”

“We will also be expecting visa facilitation and other arrangements for the Pakistani fans wishing to visit India for the World T20,” he said.
